  • "Angel Has Fallen" wins North American box office for second-straight weekend

    LOS ANGELES, Sept. 1 (Xinhua) -- Lionsgate and Millennium's "Angel Has Fallen" easily maintained its reign in North America, adding 11.57 million U.S. dollars during its second weekend of release.

    The action film is on track to close out the Labor Day holiday with an estimated 14.5 million dollars through Monday. It has grossed a total of 40.7 million dollars in North America through Sunday, according to studio figures collected by measurement firm Comscore.

    "Angel Has Fallen" is the third chapter in the Fallen film series, following 2013's "Olympus Has Fallen" and 2016's "London Has Fallen."     Universal's action film "Fast and Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw" landed in fourth in its fifth weekend with 6.28 million dollars for a North American cume of 157.1 million dollars.
